Catherine Chang, M.D. Catherine is a graduate of the Oklahoma School of
Science and Mathematics and completed her bachelor’s of science degree
from the University of Oklahoma in biochemistry and microbiology. She
received her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma and then
finished training in pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. She is
board certified in pediatrics and has clinical interests in
hematology, nephrology, preventative medicine, and medical bioethics.
She enjoys caring for children of all ages and looks forward to
watching them and their families grow.
Dr. Chang lives in Bloomington with her
husband, John and her daughter, Evelyn. She enjoys cooking,
cake decorating, going to the theatre and ballroom dancing.
Erika Malvey-Dorn, M.D./Ph.D. Erika graduated from Wellesley College in 1992 and then entered the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Minnesota. She completed her Ph.D. in immunology in 1998 and her M.D. in 2000. She finished her pediatric residency training at the University of Minnesota were she developed a special interest in asthma, allergy and infectious disease. She also enjoys caring for newborns and children with chronic medical conditions. She is board-certified in pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Malvey lives in Edina with her husband, Richard, and their three young children, Henry, Mary and George. She enjoys running, swimming, cross-country skiing and spending time with her family and friends.
Angela Thompson-Busch, M.D./Ph.D. Angie received her M.D. degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1995 after completing a Ph.D. in pharmacology at the University of Michigan in 1991. She finished her pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, OH and spent one year in subspecialty training in pediatric hematology/oncology at Michigan. She is board-certified in pediatrics and has special interests in hematology/oncology, ADHD/autism, and adolescent gynecology. Dr. Busch lives in Eden Prairie with her husband, Rick, and her sons, Grant, born in 1998, and Jackson, born in 2001. Her hobbies include skiing, photography, and collecting art and Disney memorabilia.
Nancy Carlson, CPNP Nancy Carlson graduated from the College of St. Catherine with a B.A. in nursing in 1975. She has experience working in multiple locations within Minneapolis Children’s and for the MN Department of Health for Services for Children with Handicaps. She returned to the College of St. Catherine in 1989 to complete her nurse practitioner degree in pediatrics. Her areas of expertise include children with special needs, children with behavior and school problems, and building families through adoption. Nancy resides in Edina with her husband, Keith. She has two daughters, Maggie and Caroline, and three Labrador retrievers. Her hobbies include needlework, and raising, showing, and training dogs in obedience and hunting.
Marilou Pederson, CPNP Marilou Pederson, CPNP has been practicing as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 1972. She received her R.N. degree in 1968 and worked as a registered nurse for three years at the University of Minnesota Hospitals in Neonatal Intensive Care. She then attended the pediatric nurse practitioners program in Boston, MA, associated with Northeastern University. Marilou’s interests include newborn care, ADHD/behavioral problems, foreign children and adoption, and injury related concerns. Marilou lives in Edina and has two spirited daughters, Kori and Kelsey. She enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, and running. She has run three marathons in her career…none of which were very fast!
Peter Dehnel, M.D. After 25 years of practicing pediatric medicine, Pete has chosen to transition to a full-time medical director position at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. Therefore, he will no longer have time to see patients during the week at our office. He will continue to see patients on some weekends. He wishes to thank everyone for the opportunity to provide medical care for their children over the years. It has been a privilege for him to do so, and he wishes everyone all the best for the future.
